Ruby Akubueze’s childhood and education
Ruby Akubueze was born and raised in Umuahia, Abia State, in a family of six. She had most of her early education in the same state. She had her secondary school education in Saint Joseph College and she is currently studying Theatre Arts at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

Ruby Akubueze has dreamed of becoming an actress right from her early childhood days. She recalls been fascinated by Leonardo DiCaprio’s acting in the award-wining, Hollywood movie, Titanic.
Ruby started honing her acting skills in school drama clubs and church. She also joined a theatre house and attended a talent boot camp, working to upgrade her acting skills. She started attending auditions for screen productions in her early teens.
Ruby Akubueze made her acting debut in the 2013 web series, “Look Beyond”, produced by Faith Moyosore. She also appeared alongside popular comedian and actor AY Makun in “Brother LIEnus”. Other big stars Ruby Akubueze has worked with include the likes of Wale Ojo, Iretiola Doyle, Toyin Abraham, Osas Ighodaro, Timini Egbuson and Tiwa Savage.
Between 2018 to 2019, Ruby Akubueze took up the role of Frances in the popular MTV Shuga Naija series. The role earned her a lot of praise from many fans of the show. Ruby has since gone on to feature in several other movies.
