Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has revealed that the State pays compensation of N100,000 to herdsmen whose cows were killed during the recent misunderstanding between the Operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and the cattle rearers.
Ikpeazu made this known last week Wednesday when he appeared as a guest on Channel TV’s Sunrise Daily.
The governor added that the same amount is also given to farmers whose farms were destroyed during the clash.
In his words, he said: “We are not diagnosing the problem properly… we have people who are interested in creating anarchy.”
On the other hand, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and patron of the ESN, Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed his will to not back down in the fight against killer Fulani herders.
“ESN has commenced the combing of parts of Isiukwuato forests last night and engagement with the enemy is ongoing and will continue until they no longer present a threat to our communities along that axis,” he said
