Mitch McConnell is an American politician representing Kentucky State in the Senate. Aged 81, McConnell is Kentucky’s longest-serving senator and is regarded as one of America’s oldest politicians.

As of the time of publishing this article (September 2023), Mitch McConnell is married to his second wife Elaine Chao. Before marrying Elaine Chao, McConnell was formerly married for 12 years to his first wife, activist Sherrill Redmon. Mitch and his ex-wife Sherrill Redmon wedded in 1968 and were together until 1980. The former couple share three beautiful daughters together.
Following their divorce, McConnell gave love another chance. In 1993, he wedded for the second time to Elaine Chao, a Taiwan-born businesswoman. Mitch McConnell and his second wife Elaine Chao have been married for nearly 30 years as of 2023. They do not have any kids together.

Chao is originally from Taiwan but holds an American citizenship. Her father, James Chao, is a famous Chinese business executive, while her late mother, Ruth Mulan Chu, was a philanthropist. A public policy degree holder, Porter McConnell was a legislative aide for a Massachusetts State Senator. Porter randomly shares her political views on her Twitter page – some of which conflict with her father’s. In fact, she is the most vocal of Mitch McConnell’s children. Porter spends most of her time in Washington with her author husband, Thomas Flores.
