Neilia Biden (nèe Hunter) was an American teacher and the first wife of Joe Biden. She was born on July 28, 1942, in Skaneateles, New York, United States. Sadly, she passed away on December 18, 1972, in Wilmington, Delaware, United States at the age of 30. She got married to Joe Biden (Hunter Biden’s father) in 1966 in the United States. After the marriage, they moved to Wilmington, Delaware, where Joe Biden was on the New Castle County Council. They have three children. Shortly after Joe became U.S. senator-elect in 1972, Neilia was involved in an automobile crash alongside her three children.
It was reported that Neila pulled out in front of a tractor-trailer truck which was travelling north along Route 7. Neilia and her three children were taken to Wilmington General Hospital, where she and her daughter Naomi were pronounced dead on arrival, but her sons Beau and Hunter both survived with multiple serious injuries. Two weeks after the crash, Joe Biden was successfully sworn into the Senate. Neilia and Naomi were later buried in St. Joseph at the Brandywine Cemetery in Greenville, Delaware.

Beau Biden is the older brother of Hunter Biden. He was an American politician, lawyer, and officer in the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps from Wilmington, Delaware. He was born on February 3, 1969, in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. He died of glioblastoma (a type of aggressive brain tumour) on May 30, 2015, in Bethesda, Maryland, United States at the age of 46.
Before his death, Beau Biden served as the 44th attorney general of Delaware from 2007 to 2015 and was a major in the Delaware Army National Guard in the Iraq War. He also worked at the United States Department of Justice in Philadelphia, first as Counsel to the Office of Policy Development and later as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office from 1995-2004.
Beau Biden was married to Hallie Oliver and they had two children. He was first diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in 2001 and was later diagnosed with brain cancer. Hunter met Kathleen Buhle in 1992 and they got married in 1993 after dating for a few months. They were married for 22 years, before separating in late 2015.
According to reports, throughout their marriage, Kathleen supported Hunter Biden through his struggles with addiction. Hallie Biden is the widow of Hunter Biden’s late brother, Beau Biden who died of glioblastoma on May 30, 2015.
After Beau died in 2015, Hunter and Hallie became close and started dating the following year (2016). While they initially chose to keep the relationship a secret, news about their affair broke out in 2017, causing a ruckus in the media.
In an interview with the New Yorker, Hunter said:
I started to think of Hallie as the only person in my life who understood my loss.
According to Hunter, his father found out about the relationship when the New York Post called his office for comment.

Hunter and Lunden Alexis first met when he first visited the club where Lunden worked. The lawsuit was later settled in March 2020 after Biden agreed to pay Roberts a monthly amount of child support and health insurance premiums, as well as other costs.
