Nigerian singer Tems criticized for 2023 Oscars outfit – Tweets

Nigerian singer Tems was a topic of social media discussion following her elaborate white dress at the just-concluded 2023 Oscars ceremony.

Tems who wore a white dress with a convoluted shoulder detail that framed her head was criticized by some social media users for blocking the view of the people sitting behind her with her outfit.

Many praised the outfit but noted it was only suited for the red carpet; some added that the singer’s styling team should have made adequate arrangements for a change of outfit after the red carpet photos.

Interestingly, some commenters also defended the singer with some comparing her dress to what Lady Gaga wore some years ago at a similar event.

Tems was nominated for Best Original Song for her work in the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack “Lift Me Up”, but did not win.
