It’s official: the premiere date of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones has been announced.

The 8th season of the popular fantasy drama will start airing in April 2019.

After seven long seasons plus a full year delay, fans of the Westeros saga are finally going to find out who will end up on the Iron Throne.

In a short teaser video released by HBO, the final chapter of the story was summed up by the text: “Every battle. Every Betrayal. Every alliance. Every risk. Every fight. Every sacrifice. Every oath. Every death…is all #forthethrone.”

However, it is now almost confirmed that the 8th season of the show will not be the ultimate end of the GoT universe!

A spinoff series is already in development that promises to tell the story of Westeros, long, long before the Targaryens, Starks and Lannisters we know today!
