Viola Davis and her moving acceptance speech at the 2017 Oscars

by Staff writer

Ms Davis is famous for amazing speeches, and the 2017 Oscars was no exception.

Davis, who won best supporting actress for “Fences,” earned plenty of cheers from the audience for her unique and marvelous acceptance speech.

“People ask me all the time — what kind of stories do you want to tell, Viola?” Viola said.

“I say exhume those bodies. Exhume those stories — the stories of the people who dreamed big and never saw those dreams to fruition, people who fell in love and lost!”

Then she added:

“I became an artist and thank God I did … because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life!”

Afterward, the show’s host Jimmy Kimmel informed the crowd Davis just “won an Emmy” for the speech.
