A South African traditional ruler named Inkosi Xolile Ndevu has been left embarrassed after his wife walked in on his Zoom meeting completely naked.
Inkosi Xolile Ndevu, a member of the National House of Traditional Leaders, was responding to a statement when his wife who seemed unaware that a live meeting was going on walked into the room with no clothes on.
The meeting was being broadcast live on national television and many viewers witnessed the moment.
Portfolio committee chairwoman, Faith Muthambi who looked visibly disturbed by the imagery reprimanded Ndevu immediately.
She also said this was not the first time the traditional ruler would be caught in such a mess.
She said:
“Inkosi, the person behind you is not properly dressed, we are seeing everything, yho! This is very disturbing what we are seeing. And this is not the first time this is happening, every time we see you, we see these unholy pictures. You are on live television.”
Inkosi Ndevu apologised for the incident, saying: “I’m very sorry. I was focusing on the camera and not behind me. I’m so embarrassed, chair.”
Ndevu later told South Africa newspaper, TimesLive, that he wasn’t very familiar with how Zoom meetings work.
He said:
“This Zoom technology is new to us and we were never trained. Our houses are not built so we can have privacy for these meetings. As the meeting continued after 10 pm, my wife came in to use the bathroom and was unaware I had the video feed on. I apologise.”
