Two Canadian sisters arrested for blackmailing Nigerian rich men

Two sisters from Canada have been released on bail after being detained for allegedly attempting to blackmail Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola.

Jyoti and Kiran Matharoo operated a website called NaijaGistLive which they used to cyber-bully high-ranking men, including oil business mogul Otedola.

They accused their victims of cheating and seeing prostitutes and threaten to release sexual videos of them if they failed to pay a certain amount of money.

The Matharoo sisters were eventually caught with laptops and iPads containing videos of themselves having sex with men.

They are charged with allegations of cyber-bullying and illegal extortion and face up to four years in prison if eventually convicted.

According to Nigerian news site Politics Nigeria, Jyoti and Kiran Matharoo are high-society prostitutes specialized in extorting money from Nigeria’s wealthiest people.

The sisters tried to blackmail Otedola by claiming they had evidence of him having an affair.

The sisters were arraigned at the Yaba Megistrate Court on Dec. 23 and the case will be heard again on Jan. 26.

In a newly released video posted to YouTube, the two Toronto sisters issued an apology to Otedola and their other victims.

“We apologize to Femi Otedola and his family, especially his wife and children, and all the other petitioners,” they said.

“We created a platform called Naijagistlive.com and co where people can send in stories,” Jyoti says. “Most stories were sent by close friends or associates of people being written about. The intention was not to hurt anyone or to be malicious. The intention was not to extort anyone. We haven’t received any money from this website.”

Jyoti and Kiran have a combined 50,000 followers on their Instagram accounts, where they post snapshots from their lavish and luxurious lifestyles.

It was gathered that the Police arrested the duo after Otedola filed a complaint and hired a tracker.
