“I’ve met Nigerian engineers who couldn’t use a voltmeter and doctors who who couldn’t interpret blood test results” – White man says

by Staff writer

Asking for advice online can be a little tricky; most times you don’t get what you need!

On a popular online forum, a Nigerian man seeking advice on how to easily emigrate to the US received the funniest advice from a white man.

Richard Munrow, who says he is a security consultant for an NGO, told the poster his experience with Nigerian graduates.

“If you have a high-level of education giving you a real skill set in demand such as being a doctor or engineer (and you didn’t just buy your degree) then you may have a chance of a skilled immigrant visa,” Munrow says.

He then went on to say he’s met ‘Nigerian engineers who couldn’t use a voltmeter’.

“Seriously I’ve met so-called degree-qualified electrical engineers in your country who couldn’t use a voltmeter and doctors who couldn’t interpret blood test results.

“Better to stay in Nigeria and try to build a life there, if enough Nigerians did that then the country wouldn’t be such a disaster that you all want to leave,” Munrow says.
