Michelle Mone is a Scottish politician, businesswoman, parliamentarian and member of the UK’s House of Lords. She is the co-founder of MJM International Limited and founder of Ultimo – an international lingerie brand that has been sold to MAS Holdings. Michelle Mone is often cited as one of UK’s most influential women.
Michelle Mone’s full name is Michelle Georgina Allan Mone. She was born on October 8, 1971, in Dennistoun, Glasgow. She was born as one of two children to Duncan Mone (father) and Isobel Mone (mother). Michelle Mone is 52 years old as of 2023.

Michelle Mone’s ex-husband Michael Mone is a Scottish businessman. He is said to be an anaesthetist’s son from a catholic family. He co-founded MJM International Limited alongside Michelle. Michael reportedly remarried in January 2022 to Samantha Bunn – former head designer for Ultimo.
Michelle Mone reportedly met Michael as a teenager through an unspecified modelling job. They dated for a while and got married in 1990. Michelle reportedly converted from Protestantism to catholicism before getting married to Michael.
Unfortunately, their 21-year-old marriage crashed in 2011 and their divorce was finalized in 2013 amidst some controversies. Michelle Mone stated during an interview with the Sunday Times in 2012 that being an independent woman contributed to her failed marriage.
She said:
“I wish I was that woman who relied on her husband to do things for her. I don’t think a lot of men like independent women. I just became too strong. I wish sometimes I wasn’t me. If I was a housewife, I’d probably still be married to Michael”.
She wrote more about their relationship in her book titled “My Fight To The Top”. She stated in the book that Michael had cheated on her with Ultimo’s head designer, Samantha Bunn, while they were still married and she even hired a private detective who took pictures of Michael snogging Sam. She also alleged that her ex-husband bit her right ear on a flight to Miami after she accused him of flirting with an air stewardess.
According to reports, Michelle Mone’s divorce cost her over £24 million which she used in buying off Micheal’s share of Ultimo before she finally sold it off in 2014. However, Michael denied her allegations claiming everything she wrote in her book is a work of fiction. According to him, he was not involved in a relationship with Samantha Bunn while he was with Michelle.

“From what I have seen so far, the book is a work of total fiction, easily disproved by simple facts and is full of accusations about me which I refute entirely. The first of these is the allegation of a serious assault on board a flight to Miami. This did not happen”.
“The second allegation that I need to address is that I was involved in an affair with Samantha Bunn prior to our separation. This is totally denied as it is completely untrue. Contrary to statements released by Michelle, we actually separated on the 23rd of December 2011. In her book, Michelle points to a sequence of events involving myself and Samantha that were supposed to have happened in January 2012. These are again totally fictitious. I was not in a relationship with Samantha at that time”.

Michelle Mone’s second husband, Douglas Barrowman is a Scottish business tycoon. He is the founder of the Knox Group of Company. According to his organization’s web page, Douglas Barrowman is a chartered accountant by profession. According to unofficial sources, he once faced jail term in Spain for allegedly evading corporate tax alongside six other executives.
Michelle Mone announced her engagement to Barrowman in December 2018 by posting a snap of them on IG with the caption “I Said YES”. They got married two years later in November 2020 at Rushen Abbey, Ballasalla. The lovebirds have been married for three years now and counting.

As of the time of publishing this article, Michelle Mone has only been romantically linked to two men – her first husband Michael Mone and her second (and current) husband Douglas Barrowman. She was rumoured to have dated late Australian cricketer, Shane Warne, shortly after her marriage to Douglas but the rumour turned out to be false as both parties denied the allegation.

Michelle Mone and Shane Warne were rumoured to have had a fling in 2014 after reports about them spending time together at London’s Dorchester Hotel surfaced online. Interestingly, both parties debunked the rumours.
Michelle on her part denied the rumour via her Twitter page, posting:
“Thanks for all your messages, most lovely but for the rest of you, FTR [for the record] I’d never ever meet a guy if he was taken. It was done to me and I remember that pain. Not that it’s anyone’s biz but I’ve been single for 18 months, very independent, successful and don’t need anyone for anything other than my family”.
Shane Warne also debunked the rumour, calling it laughable. He wrote:
“Just read some more ludicrous & laughable reporting on me, what an absolute load of rubbish! Whatever, time to rack up the air miles again”.

As of the time of writing, Michelle Mone is the proud mother of three grownup children- two girls and a boy. She had her three children with her ex-husband Michael Mone. The children are named Rebecca, Declan, and Bethany respectively.
Her first child, Rebecca is reportedly the founder of the beauty brand “Luxe 22”. Reports also show that she took over her mother’s tanning business “Utan And Tone” in 2019.
Her last child, Bethany is said to be a singer and songwriter. She took part in the Channel 4 TV reality show “Born Famous” alongside Jack Ramsay – Gordon Ramsay’s son. There is little or no available information about Declan.
