Veteran Nigerian singer Olanrewaju Fasasi, better known by his stage name Sound Sultan, has reportedly been diagnosed with throat cancer.
Sound Sultan, 44, is reported to have commenced chemotherapy in one of the hospitals in the United States of America.
Sound Sultan is credited as one of those that brought visibility to Afro-pop genre of music in Nigeria.
Sound Sultan is married to an Igbo woman named Chichi Morah, now known as Farida Fasasi. They have three children together. They have been married for 12 years now (since 2009).
Fans and friends of the rapper and singer have taken to different social media platforms to pray for his quick recovery.
