Google celebrates Achebe today

by Staff writer

Google is paying homage to Chinua Achebe today.

The Nigerian author, widely called the father of modern African literature, would have been 87 today.

Achebe’s first novel Things Fall Apart, published in 1958, is considered to be the most read book in modern African literature.

In 2007, Achebe won the Man Booker International Prize.
