While spending her morning with the residents of a nursing home for those who worked in entertainment, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, had one particularly poignant conversation with an old woman who chose not to have children.
Meghan, who’s expecting her first child, asked the woman: “Do you have kids?”
“No I don’t, I had a career,” the woman replied.
“Yes, that I understand,” Meghan said.
Meghan’s response has been praised by many who said her showing acceptance and understanding is powerful in helping eradicate the shaming some “career” women who opt out of motherhood receive.
