Did Femi Adesina call #ENDSARS protests child’s play? – The true story

There are reports currently going round on social media that Mr Femi Adesina who is the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President Muhammadu Buhari described the ongoing nationwide protests and clamor for the end of SARS mere ‘child’s play’.

Adesina reportedly made the statement during a Channels TV interview, adding that the protesters are just joking. He further described the protesters as “just small boys and girls sprinkled here and there”, the reports say. The supposed statement has earned Mr Adesina lots of criticism on social media with many Nigerians accusing him of sycophancy.

How true is this?

Did Femi Adesina actually call the #ENDSARS protests ‘child’s play’?

Apparently not. The media aide was actually talking about the RevolutionNow protests that took place months ago in the video and not #ENDSARS.

The video where Femi Adesina was captured describing a protest as ‘child’s play’ was actually taken months ago (August precisely), way before the #ENDSARS protests started.
