Queen of England, Elizabeth II, has issued a personal statement, addressing the assertions made by royal house members, Harry and Meghan, during their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey last Sunday, March 7.
A statement from Buckingham Palace on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II released on Tuesday, March 9, said, the royal family is “saddened” by the challenges Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan have faced in the past few years.
While a part of the statement suggests that the royal family does fully support all Harry and Meghan said during the interview, it promised that the issues raised will be taken “very seriously” and addressed.
The statement read:
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.
“While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”
