Iranian family murders their 47-year-old son for refusing to get married

Babak Khorramdin holds a Master’s degree in Cinema and Filmmaking

A 47-year-old Iranian film director Babak Khorramdin has reportedly been murdered by his parents for refusing to get married.

According to local media reports, Khorramdin’s father confessed to drugging and murdering his son after they had an argument about his unmarried status.

Khorramdin’s parents believed he had brought shame and dishonor to their family by refusing to get married at his age.

The victim’s remains were found in a suitcase in the trash after his family allegedly killed him before cutting up his body.

Both parents have been arrested by the police, reports say.

Babak Khorramdin’s parts were discovered in trash bags and a suitcase near the family home in Ekbatan, western Tehran, on Sunday, May 16.

Iranian police said they traced additional evidence of the murder to the family home.

Babak Khorramdin’s murder comes barely a week after 20-year-old Ali Fazeli Monfared was killed by his family members after they found out he was gay.
