Nollywood actor Leo Mezie is dead

The death of Leo Mezie, a popular Nollywood actor, has been confirmed.

According to information gathered by DNB Stories Africa, Leo Mezie died two days ago in Abuja on Saturday, May 14, after a protracted battle with kidney disease.

The actor who had been battling kidney disease for years, finally had a kidney transplant done some days before his death. According to reports, he developed complications shortly after the transplant and it got worse and he later died.

A source told DNB Stories Africa that “his body rejected the kidney”. According to reports, his corpse has been moved to his hometown in Umuahia for burial. He is survived by his wife, Maureen Chimezie Onyemachi, and children.

Leo Mezie was a fan favourite in the Nollywood industry in the early 2000s. Many of his friends and fans have taken to different platforms to mourn his passing.
