Other than his music, NBA YoungBoy is also popular for his numerous clashes with the law. In 2014, NBA YoungBoy was arrested for robbery and sent to the juvenile detention centre. He was later released after six months.
On November 26, 2016, right before a concert, NBA YoungBoy was arrested on charges of attempted murder. YoungBoy allegedly opened fire on a group of people after jumping out of a vehicle. He was locked up until May 2017. YoungBoy then pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. On August 22, 2017, he was sentenced to a suspended 10-year jail term and three years of probation.
On February 25, 2018, NBA YoungBoy was arrested for allegedly committing assault, weapons violation and kidnapping. Surveillance footage of the hotel he lodged in showed YoungBoy throwing his ex-girlfriend, Jania Jackson to the ground. He was later released in March 2018 on bail.
