Who is Tekno?

Tekno is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer and performing artist. He is well known for his hit songs like “Skeletun”, “Pana” and “Mufasa”. The singer is often referred to by the nicknames “Slim Daddy”, “Alhaji Tekno” or “Golden Boy of Africa”.

Tekno was recently featured on the song “Buga” by popular Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel which is currently making rounds on social media.

Tekno’s full name is Augustine Miles Kelechi. He was born on December 17, 1992, in Bauchi State, the Northern part of Nigeria. He is 29 years old as of May 2022. Tekno originally hails from the Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. His father was in the Nigerian Army and as a result of his line of work, Tekno grew up moving around several parts of the country including Nasarawa, Abuja and Kaduna, alongside his five siblings.

His father had a flair for playing the guitar which got Tekno passionate about music at a very young age. Tekno is the elder brother to Nigerian artiste, Spotless who is currently signed to Mocking Bird Records.

Tekno’s marriage and wedding

As of the time of publishing this report, Tekno is unmarried and does not have a wife. However, he is reported to be in a relationship with Nigerian-born singer and dancer, Lola Rae who is also his baby mama. The couple has been together for over four years and welcomed a child in May 2018.

Tekno has described himself as “a womaniser for life”. He revealed that he can’t be with one woman because he gets carried away by beautiful women. Throughout his career, Tekno has been romantically linked with several women.

About Tekno’s current girlfriend and baby mama – Lola Rae

Rachel Akosua Funmilola Garton, popularly known as Lola Rae is the current girlfriend and baby mama of Nigerian singer Tekno. She was born in Obalende, Lagos on January 20, 1991. She is currently 31 years old as of May 2022.

Lola Rae is of Ghanaian and British descent but she was born in Nigeria. She is a singer and songwriter. Rae attended St. Saviour’s School in Ikoyi, Lagos, and the Lekki British International High School before relocating to England at the age of 15. Lola Rae also studied Fashion Textile at Central Saint Martins before kick-starting her career in entertainment in 2010.

She gained recognition after releasing her debut single “Watch My Ting Go” in November 2012. The singer has also featured in works of artists like Diamond Platnumz, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Sarkodie, and many others. She is also a sister to British R&B singer and songwriter, Rebecca Garton.

About Tekno’s relationship with Lola Rae

News about Tekno and Lola Rae being an item started making rounds in early 2017. In July 2017, Tekno posted a picture of himself and Lola Rae on Instagram with a love emoji thus making the relationship public. On many occasions, speculations about Tekno and Lola Rae breaking up circulated around the internet and in January 2020, the singer tweeted about being a womanizer.

This tweet left fans wondering if he was still in a relationship with Lola Rae. The tweet caused a stir online resulting in the singer receiving heavy backlash. He later took the tweet down and claimed it was only a joke and nothing more.

Tekno and Chidinma Ekile’s relationship

In 2015, before Tekno and Lola Rae became an item, Tekno was reported to have been in a romantic relationship with popular Nigerian singer, Chidinma Ekile. In October 2015, the female singer took to her Instagram page to share a picture of herself cozying up with Tekno with the caption “Me and Bae”. Tekno also shared a loved-up video of the two fooling around. 

At that time, it was unsure if the chemistry was just a fling or might be leading to a full-blown relationship. According to reports sighted by DNB Stories Africa, the two reportedly broke up for reasons best known to them.

Tekno and Lulu Elizabeth Michael’s relationship

According to reports sighted by DNB Stories Africa, Tekno was romantically linked to Tanzanian actress, Lulu Elizabeth Michael after posting a picture he took with the actress on Instagram with the caption “How do you see this”. According to online reports, the Tanzanian actress has had a pretty bad reputation as a number of her ex-lovers have ended up dead.

It was also rumoured that she was cursed and anyone who sleeps with her ends up dead. These rumours started making rounds on the internet after the death of her ex-lover, popular Tanzanian actor Steven Kanumba who died on April 7, 2012, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Tanzanians stormed Tekno’s comment section writing “Rip Tekno” on the picture he posted of himself and Lulu. This led to the singer deleting all his pictures from Instagram and unfollowing everyone. 

Tekno’s children

Tekno is a doting father of one daughter named Skye Yaa Amaka Kelechi who was given birth to by his baby mama, Lola Rae. Skye was born on May 24, 2018, and she is currently three years old as of May 2022.

Tekno’s rumoured relationship with Agnes Masogange

Tekno was rumored to be in a relationship with late Tanzanian model and video vixen, Agnes Gerald Waya popularly known as Agnes Masogange who passed away on April 20, 2018, at the Mama Ngoma Hospital in Tanzania as a result of pneumonia and low blood pressure.

As at the time news of their relationship surfaced online, Tekno and Agnes both denied the rumours. It was also reported that the late Tanzanian model was linked to popular Nigerian singer, Davido and was rumoured to have been pregnant with him.

Agnes Masogange came to the limelight in 2008 when she featured as the video vixen in the music video for Belle 9’s song “Masogange”. According to reports, this was where she got her nickname “Masogange” from.
