Unconfirmed reports of Hushpuppi’s death emerged on Twitter yesterday, February 23, 2022.
Speculations have risen on Twitter and other social media platforms that arrested Nigerian socialite and fraud gang leader Hushpuppi has died.
The speculations of Hushpuppi’s death began circulating after controversial Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo posted a cryptic post on her Twitter page, announcing the death of an anonymous “boy”.
Kemi Olunloyo’s tweet reads:
“Your boy has died o! They won’t announce it yet. #KemiTalks.”
Even though she did not mention any names, the tweet was soon interpreted by Nigerian social media users to mean that she was referring to Hushpuppi.
Is Hushpuppi dead or alive?
As of the time of making this post (Thursday, February 24, 2022 – 3:30 pm) – there is no confirmation that Hushpuppi is dead.
It would take more than the tweet of a controversial self-acclaimed investigative journalist to confirm the news of Hushpuppi’s death.
According to what is currently known, Hushpuppi has not died and is still very much alive. That status would only change when a reputable source or media house confirms to us that the 39-year-old fraud gang leader has died.
Hushpuppi whose real name is Ramon Abbas pleaded guilty to charges of money laundering in the United States on July 28, 2021, and also named DCP Abba Kyari, a Nigerian senior police official, as an accomplice in his $1.1 million scam deal.
