Hushpuppi defrauded over 1.9 million people of around N168 billion – Dubai police video

Dubai Police has released a video of Hushpuppi’s arrest, revealing that some 1.9 million people were defrauded by the socialite and Instagram celebrity.

The Dubai police video shows details of how the arrest of Nigerian Dubai-based big boy Hushpuppi whose real name has been revealed to be Raymond Abbas was effected.

The video confirmed Hushpuppi’s arrest was effected by an extensive operation named “Fox Hunt 2”.

The operation revealed Hushpuppi and his gang conducted a hidden online fraud network that was committing crimes outside the UAE, including money-laundering, cyber fraud, hacking, criminal impersonation, banking fraud and identity theft.

Hushpuppi was arrested alongside twelve other syndicates who are in the business of hacking corporate emails and cloning websites to redirect payments to their own accounts.

The video revealed Hushpuppi and his gang defrauded over 1.9 million victims. About 1.6BN Dhirams was stolen by Hushpuppi and his team, over 25m Dhirams in cars, and 150m Dhirams worth in items.

The successful raid resulted in the confiscation of incriminating documents pertaining to a well-planned international fraud, worth Dh1.6 billion (around N168 billion).
