Anna Kendrick appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to promote her new film A Simple Favor and gave some hilarious insight into that one time she insulted the President of the United States.
Way back in 2013, Kendrick posted a chummy photo with her seemingly BFF, former President Barack Obama.
The photo, which was taken in 2012, shows Obama doubled over in laughter as Kendrick cracks a joke.
Colbert pulled up the photo during her appearance and asked what was so funny. Turns out, Kendrick was so starstruck by the former president that she suffered from a bit of word-vomit.
During that 2012 Los Angeles meet-and-greet, Obama referred to Kendrick’s 2009 film Up In the Air, for which she received an Oscar nomination. Singling her out in the group of about 30 people, he praised how the film “talked about the economy and the recession.”
After his talk, Obama approached Kendrick saying, “I hope I didn’t embarrass you earlier?”
The actress, who described the experience as “having a full stroke,” replied sarcastically, “Yeah, you’re such an asshole.”
