How did Nigeria’s former minister ‘Mama Taraba’ die?

The death of Nigeria’s former minister of Women Affairs Hajiya Aisha Alhassan popularly known as Mama Taraba has been confirmed.

How did Mama Taraba die?

Mama Taraba died in a Cairo hospital in Egypt on Friday, May 7, 2021, where she was being treated for an undisclosed illness.

Mama underwent a knee replacement surgery in Dubai in April, 2019 but has since recovered.

The exact illness that killed Mama Taraba is not known at this time. Mama Taraba’s sister who confirmed her death to reporters did not provide information about her illness.

Mama Taraba died at the age of 61. She was born on 16 September 1959.
